Dave holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Utah. He earned his law degree at the University of Montana School of Law where he served as an editor on the Public Land and Resources Law Review. During law school Dave served as an intern law clerk for the Honorable Chief Judge Dana R. Christensen of the United States District Court in Missoula, Montana. After law school, Dave worked as a term law clerk for the Honorable Michael E. Wheat at the Montana Supreme Court.
Dave joined Geiszler Steele, PC in 2018, and he assists clients in a variety of legal matters. His practice includes advising clients about property and real estate transactions, including conservation easements and other public-benefit acquisitions; environmental regulation and litigation; water rights; construction contracts and disputes; business and commercial transactions; and wills, trusts, and estates. Dave also practices Indian Law and represents Indigenous Sovereign Nations. Dave is admitted to practice in Montana State Courts, all United States District Courts in Montana, Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Court, and the Fort Belknap Tribal Court. He is a member of the State Bar of Montana, Western Montana Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
Before his legal career, Dave worked as general contractor in residential construction. Dave spends his spare time skiing, biking, and rafting Montana’s mountains and rivers with his family.
